Movement Choice: Roll, Lagoon, or Stay

Each turn starts with a real decision — roll for a new sea, return to the lagoon, or hold your ground.

Captains at the table before choosing their next move

Sailing is no longer an automatic dice roll. At the start of your turn you now choose how to move: roll for a new outer sea, return to the lagoon, or stay where you are. That choice shapes risk, fishing, and when you cash in — one of the biggest feel upgrades to the commercial loop.

Your options

  • Roll — spend the movement dice and sail toward a new sea when the table allows it.
  • Lagoon — head straight back to the harbor to sell, repair, or regroup (from an outer sea).
  • Stay — hold your current zone and keep fishing or waiting without rolling.

Why it matters

Captains can plan around cargo, contested waters, and a battered hull instead of being forced into every roll. The table stays fair: only legal choices show up for your zone and ship state, so the decision is always meaningful and never a dead click.
