How to Play
Seasons of Floripa is a real-time multiplayer fishing board game inspired by Florianópolis. Up to four players sail the surrounding seas, fill their hold with fish, and sell at the central lagoon market. When the match ends, the player with the most coins wins.
Objective
Earn more coins than your rivals before the final round. Coins come from selling fish at the lagoon — the only place on the board where the market pays full price.
The Map
- Central Lagoon — the shared hub where multiple ships can stay. This is the only zone with a market to sell your catch.
- Four outer seas — each offers different risk and reward. Harder seas demand tougher entry rolls and fiercer battles, but the haul can be far more valuable.
- Only one ship may occupy an outer sea at a time.
Sea Difficulty
Outer seas grow harder clockwise around the board. Safer waters favour common catches; the farthest seas raise the odds of rare, legendary, and special loot.
- South Sea (easiest) — mostly common and uncommon fish, with a small chance of trash.
- West Sea — a mix of uncommon catches with some rare fish.
- North Sea — heavily weighted toward rare fish.
- East Sea (hardest) — the best odds for rare and legendary fish, and the only sea where a Treasure Chest can appear.
The lagoon remains the safest zone: calm waters with mostly common fish and a modest chance of trash.
What You Can Catch
Catches fall into three categories. Available fish also depend on the map theme — Summer or Winter.
- Fish — sellable catches ranked by rarity:
- 🐟 Common — e.g. Sardine, Mojarra, Mullet (low coin value)
- 🐠 Uncommon — e.g. Shrimp, Pompano, Octopus
- 🦈 Rare — e.g. Stingray, Tuna, Wahoo, Atlantic Bonito
- 🐋 Legendary — e.g. Blue Marlin, Mahi-mahi (Summer) or Giant Bluefin Tuna, Colossal Marlin (Winter)
- 🗑️ Garbage (Trash) — worthless junk such as Old Boot, Rusty Can, and Seaweed. It fills inventory space and sells for 0 coins.
- 👑 Treasure Chest — ultra-rare mythic loot found only in the East Sea. Worth the most coins in the game.
Turn Flow
- Roll the dice — your roll sets how far you can move around the board.
- Move — sail toward a sea. If the target outer sea is empty, roll to beat the tide. If it is occupied, you must battle the current occupant.
- Battle — both ships roll. The loser returns to the lagoon; the winner takes the sea. On a tie, the attacker wins.
- Fish — every turn ends with fishing in your current sea. Rarer fish are worth more at market.
- Sell in the lagoon — return to the central lagoon to sell fish at full market price.
Getting Started
- Create an account or log in.
- Open the lobby and join or create a room.
- The host chooses Map Theme (Summer or Winter) and Game Length (4, 6, or 8 rounds).
- When the room is full, the host can start the match. Turn order is decided by a dice roll.
Winning
When the configured number of rounds is complete, the player with the highest coin total wins. Tie-breakers consider treasure, epic catches, and time spent in the hardest seas.
