Damage, Healing & Sea Hazards
Ships now carry hull HP: outer seas can hurt you after fishing, and the lagoon is where you repair.

The island got sharper teeth. Every ship now tracks hull hit points. Sail the outer seas and the weather can bite — but the central lagoon remains the safe harbor where you patch up and sell your catch.
Environmental hazards
After fishing in an outer sea, the turn resolves an environmental hazard: a dice roll that can deal damage based on how dangerous the zone is. Harder seas hit harder. The lagoon skips this roll entirely — calm water, no storm check.
- South is the gentlest outer sea; East is the harshest.
- A bad roll can chip or slam your hull; a good roll may leave you untouched.
- If hull HP reaches zero, the ship sinks and must recover before sailing again.
Healing & repair
Damage is not permanent doom. At the lagoon you can pay for a full repair when your hull is battered and you still have coins. Managing risk — how far east you push versus when you limp home — is now part of the captain’s craft.
